If you know me a little, you already know that I am Belgian.
In Belgium, we always celebrated All Saints Day and the Day of Deaths on 1st and 2 November instead of Halloween, and I can not say that these issues are very fun to write. In Belgium too, the weather is always rainy, so when I was in school, work, children are often inside than outside, and I always have to work to find them, so they do not get bored. This week I had to find some HalloweenTopics to write.
So I found the solution: Instead of an article dedicated to Halloween and a "Top 10 Halloween Costumes Kids" to articles and information written by adults, I asked the children what are the Halloween costumes they want at 31 October dress.
I must confess that I was terribly disappointed. When I was a child, I loved her as a princess, baroness, White-Snow, etc. For clad carnival, the boys were dressed as RobinHood, The prince of Arabian Nights, cow-boy, indian, musketeers ...
But what kind of clothes we wear, the 2007 children from? I asked the children in school, what kind of clothes they want to dress for Halloween. The answers were diversified even though they are not much of magical touch.
"What would you Halloween costume for Halloween, like Sylvie?"
"Scream's costume including mask, of course, Madame Domi!" She is only 10 years old! I thought that was their answerCinderella or Esmeralda costume. It was not! She wanted the killers Scream costume dress. Why? Since Scream was the most interesting movie they saw!
Anaïs answer was the following:
"I want a rich witch costume dress with a pointed hat, a black wig, a large hooked nose with a big button on it, long nails like claws and pointed shoes.
Agon hesitated between the Devil's costume: the same as in the Bible, with a tail, a fork, horns ... or a pirateCostume.
"When Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean?" I asked him.
"No, sometimes pirates are skeletons and I want a skeleton-ghost-pirate."
Another said:
"I want the Monster Mash costume, dress, ma'am."
The boy probably heard talk about the Monster Mash, Halloween when The Simpsons "show observed. I love the Monster Mash song but never saw the Monster Mash in person, and I do not think anyone saw this monster and knows whatKind of costume he dresses.
The youngest children interviewed want to dress a Superman or Batman costume.
My greatest surprise was Cynthia response, which we call Brutus because they are not a delicate young girl. Cynthia wants a princess costume dress.
